Year 6 Final Assembly
Dear Year 6 Parents/Carers,

It’s that time of the year when we say goodbye to our wonderful Year 6 students. We invite the Year 6 parents/carers to attend a farewell assembly. We are still under strict guidelines regarding capacity of venues and social distancing.

With this in mind we will be holding a different kind of assembly this year and the details are as follows:

Date: Friday 18th December 2020
Time: 12.00pm to 12.30pm
Location: School Oval
Limit: 2 adults per student

We are required to keep a register of all visitors to the school who are onsite for more than 15 minutes. To streamline this process we ask that you enter by a specific gate where a staff member will have a list of the Year 6 families to record your attendance. This is required for contact tracing. Unfortunately we have to limit the number of adults to two per Year 6 student as we cannot accommodate large numbers due to social distancing requirements. It is recommended that you wear a mask but this is not required.

We ask that the Year 6 parents enter the school via different gates. We will be doing this by class. Our gates have large numbers on them to assist in locating them:
• 6B: Gate 1 (main entrance Deutgam St)
• 6P: Gate 2 (Deutgam St)
• 6R: Gate 3 (Wedge St)
• 6T: Gate 4 (Pyke St)

Our Foundation to Year 5 students will also be attending the assembly and will be seated inside the running track on the oval. We ask the Year 6 parents/carers to remain outside the running track as the students will be taking a lap of honour around the track.

At the conclusion of the assembly you may take your child home. Please ensure you have checked with your child’s teacher before doing so. Any sibling may also be collected and marked off the roll by their class teacher. Any student not able to be collected will remain with their teachers until the end of the day with the rest of the school at 1.10pm.

Please note that in the case of inclement weather (wet/extreme or hot) the assembly will be cancelled. We will endeavour to communicate as soon as possible via email.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this matter.

Yours sincerely,

David Quinn
