Foundation Animal Farm Excursion - Wednesday 29th July 2026
Approval and payment can be made via XUNO by Friday 24th July.

We are excited to take our Foundation students on an excursion to Animal Land Children’s Farm. This excursion is directly linked to our learning across several areas of the Foundation Curriculum.

During the visit, students will have the opportunity to:

  • Observe and interact with a variety of farm animals in a safe and structured environment.

  • Explore the basic needs of living things (such as food, water, shelter) and how farms help meet those needs.

  • Develop oral language and vocabulary through real-world experiences, which will support their recount writing and speaking skills

  • Build confidence, responsibility, and empathy by caring for animals and participating in guided farm activities

  • Engage in discussions, ask questions, and reflect on their experiences, promoting curiosity and deeper thinking

This authentic learning experience will also provide a meaningful context for upcoming literacy work, particularly as students practise recount writing by drawing on their personal experiences at the farm.

We believe this excursion will be a memorable and valuable part of your child’s learning journey in Foundation.
