We are an inclusive community that strives for excellence
Our values guide the decisions and behaviours of all members of our school community
We have already begun the process of planning our class and staffing structure for 2026 so it is important to get your enrolments in as soon as possible.
The foundation transition sessions begin on Friday 31st October, so please ensure you enrol your foundation student prior to this date.
If you are planning on relocating at the end of this year and not returning to Werribee Primary School, could you please let the school know in writing as soon as possible at werribee.ps@education.vic.gov.au.
If you know of any families who reside in our school zone who may be interested in enrolling their children at Werribee Primary School starting in the 2026 school year, please encourage them to contact the school.
Thank you
It can be challenging to process and manage changes to routines and the uncertainty that comes with COVID-19 and related restrictions – including moving to remote learning.
To support our school community during this time, resources and support are available for parents, carers and families.
These resources will help to support the mental health and wellbeing of our students and the young people in our care during this time.
I encourage everyone in our community to access these resources and take care of themselves during this time.
A Quick Guide to Student Mental Health and Wellbeing resources is available for students, parents and carers looking to access expert guidance and resources to support wellbeing.
Supporting the mental health and wellbeing of our students remains our priority this year, especially during the continued COVID-19 pandemic and while students are learning from home during the current circuit breaker restrictions.
For students, the guide includes resources to support their own mental health and wellbeing.
The guide also includes resources and supports for parents and carers to help them build their child’s physical and mental health and wellbeing. This includes:
Wellbeing guidance for parents and carers is also available:
How does your child approach challenges? Do they often take the easiest option? Do they sometimes give up when learning starts to get tough? Do they dislike the struggle that comes with learning something challenging?
Our relationship with challenge is one of the key elements of Learnership – the skill of learning. In this insightful and powerful session, James Anderson will show you how you can help your child develop a strong positive relationship with challenge. He’ll show you the practical strategies you can use at home and in school to put your child on path towards embracing challenges and becoming a skilful learner. He’ll show you how to get your child into their Learning Zone.

The Department of Education and Training (DET) allows all government schools to hold four curriculum days per year. Curriculum days are pupil free days which allow the staff to work together on planning and professional development activities. The first day of Term 1 is a student-free day in all government schools to allow for appropriate planning to take place for the arrival of students. School Council has approved the following dates for 2025 as curriculum days:
Tuesday 28th January 2025 – first day of Term 1 | Teachers back - VTLM 2.0 & Curriculum Mapping |
Wednesday 29th January 2025 - second day of Term 1 | Supporting Positive Student Behaviour |
Monday 24th February 2025 | Berry Street |
Monday 3rd November 2025 | Assessment & Reporting |
The Department of Education and Training (DET) allows all government schools to hold a common professional practice day on the same day for all staff. This is to enable the most effective and efficient use of this day. We have scheduled our professional practice day on the following day. Students will not be required to attend school on this day:
Monday 21st July 2025 (first day of Term 3)
