As part of our History learning, the Grade 5 students will be visiting Sovereign Hill to deepen their understanding of life during the Australian Gold Rush and reasons for migration at the time to Australia.  Approval & payment can be made via XUNO by Friday 4th September.  

This excursion provides students with an authentic opportunity to explore how the discovery of gold shaped Australia's development, communities, and economy.

Through hands-on experiences, historical reenactments, and interactive exhibits, students will investigate the daily lives of miners, the challenges and opportunities of the goldfields, and the significance of this period in Australia's history.

The excursion supports the Victorian Curriculum by allowing students to engage with primary and secondary sources, develop historical inquiry skills, and gain a richer understanding of the people and events that contributed to shaping modern Australia.

Requirements
Students to wear school uniform. Students will also need to bring their own snack, lunch and reusable drink or water bottle.
