Year 5 Immigration Museum Excursion - Wednesday 18th November 2026
Approval can be made via XUNO by Friday 6th November.  As part of our Grade 5 History learning, students will be visiting the Immigration Museum to deepen their understanding of Australia’s history and the experiences of people who have migrated to Australia.

The excursion will provide students with an opportunity to explore historical sources, artefacts, stories and personal experiences that help us understand why people migrated, what their experiences were like, and how migration has contributed to the development of Australian society.

Through the excursion, students will connect what they have been learning in the classroom with real historical evidence and develop their skills in asking historical questions, examining sources, identifying perspectives and understanding how the past has shaped Australia today.

The experience will help students make meaningful connections between the people, events and experiences we study in History and the stories of real people who have contributed to Australia's past and present.
